Massage Therapy FAQ — PrimeCareRMT, Scarborough
Answers to common questions about registered massage therapy, insurance receipts, what to expect at a first visit, and our booking and cancellation policy.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need an appointment?
- Appointments are strongly recommended so we can guarantee your time and therapist. Booking online takes about a minute and shows live availability.
- Can I choose a therapist?
- Yes. During booking, pick a specific therapist or choose “Any available therapist” and we will assign one for you.
- How long should I book?
- 60 minutes is the most common choice for a first visit. Book 30–45 minutes for one focused area, or 90–120 minutes for thorough full-body work.
- Can I cancel or reschedule?
- Yes — every confirmation email includes a manage link to cancel or reschedule. At least 12 hours ahead there is no charge; inside 12 hours the deposit is not refunded, and under 3 hours notice or a no-show is charged at the full service price.
- Is my online booking confirmed instantly?
- Your slot is held as soon as you book, and the confirmation is emailed to you. If anything needs adjusting we will contact you first.
- What should I expect on my first visit?
- A short intake conversation about your health history and goals, the treatment itself, and simple aftercare advice. Arriving 5–10 minutes early helps.
- What should I wear?
- Whatever is comfortable. Your therapist explains positioning and draping, and you undress only to your own comfort level — your comfort and consent lead the session.
- How much pressure will be used?
- Exactly as much as you want. Pressure is checked in at the start and adjusted throughout — deep work should feel productive, never punishing.
- Do you provide receipts for insurance claims?
- Receipts for Registered Massage Therapy are available on request. Whether and how much your plan covers depends on your individual policy — please check with your provider.
- Should I book RMT or a regular massage?
- If you plan to claim through insurance or have a specific clinical concern, choose RMT Massage — that is the receipt your insurer expects. If you simply want to unwind, Thai or Hot Stone Massage is the better fit.
- Do I pay online when booking?
- A deposit holds your appointment — 10% of the service fee when you book online, or $10 by phone or walk-in. It counts toward the price of your treatment, and the balance is due at the clinic afterwards.
